Colfax - Haven P. Horney, 84, a retired farmer died at 6:17 p.m. Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette.  He had been hospitalized since Sunday. Mr. Horney had resided at Wesley Manor Retirement Home in Frankfort the past 10 years. He previously lived at Rt 1, Colfax. Born near Kirkpatrick in Montgomery County, Nov 22, 1902 he attended Gladdens Corner School. He moved to  Colfax in 1930 and farmed for 45 years, retiring in 1976.  His marriage was Feb 25, 1930 to Hazel Nydegger. She preceded him in death in 1971. Mr. Horney was a member of the Farm Bureau and was trustee of Sugar Creek Township for several years as well as being on the advisory board. He is survived by three sons, Eldon of Clark Hill, Dvid of Crawfordsville and Glen Horney of El Paso, Texas; and three sisters, Ruby Horney, Mary Horney and Mrs. Dan (Fern) Waddell all of Clarks Hill. – kbz

“Funeral Notices” – Horney, Haven P. Friends may call at Landis-Loy Stockwell Chapel after 3:30 p.m. today where service will be conducted at 10- a.m. Saturday, the Rev. William M. Blessing officiating. Interment Union Cemetery south of Clarks Hill.  Nine grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren survive. Preceded in death by 1 daughter, 2 brothers, 2 sisters.

Colfax – Haven P. Horney, 84, formerly of Rt 1, Colfax, died at 6:17 p.m. Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center. He had lived at Wesley Manor in Frankfort for the past 10 years. No other information was available at press time.
